Strengths and talents are often used interchangeably, and there is a reason for that, at least from the way we view strengths at HIGH5. According to HIGH5, strengths are defined as something a person is naturally good at, energized by and finds meaning in. Hence, the first element could be considered as a talent. However, the talent in itself does not qualify it to be a strength. In other words, just because you know how to do something does not mean you particularly enjoy doing it. For a talent to be a strength, it needs to be energizing and meaningful to a person, ensuring short-term and long-term motivation stemming from strengths.
