What is the difference between HIGH5 and a personality test?

HIGH5 differs from traditional personality tests in several key aspects, with a significant emphasis on scientific grounding and a strengths-based approach to assessment. While personality tests, such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or the Big Five personality traits, aim to categorize individuals into predefined personality types or traits, HIGH5 focuses on identifying and leveraging the unique combination of individual strengths.

Personality tests typically assess stable and enduring traits that describe how individuals typically think, feel, and behave across various situations. In contrast, HIGH5 assesses strengths, which are positive qualities of personality that reflect what is best within individuals.

The choice between personality assessments and HIGH5 is not exclusive as both can be used in a complementary way. For many, personality tests are a starting point to understand broader patterns of their personality, followed by the HIGH5 strengths assessment giving a more granular understanding of individual uniqueness and motivation.
